Why didn't he use his sorcery to make himself look like Prince Ali when he gotten the lamp and make Aladdin look like his true form as Jafar and then he (disguised Jafar) could claim that Jafar (true Aladdin) tried to kill him. And have him beheaded. Then he (disguised Jafar) would marry Jasmine as Prince Ali/Aladdin and succeed as Sultan when Sultan dies of "natural"causes.

Edit: I fixed up his outfit and embellished it a little. And I changed the colors back to red.
